Founder & Director, Champions of Smile

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr also known as Charlotte Flair is a humanitarian leader and child welfare advocate dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children worldwide. With a strong background in international development, healthcare access, and nonprofit governance, she is committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to receive care, education, and support regardless of circumstance.

With over a decade of experience in child welfare and community health advocacy, Ashley has collaborated with hospitals, government agencies, and grassroots.comanizations across multiple countries. Her work focuses on bridging gaps in medical access and strengthening support systems for underserved communities through sustainable, cross-sector partnerships.

Guided by transparency, accountability, and compassion, Ashley founded Champions of Smile in 2018 to deliver life-changing support to vulnerable children. From the beginning, she established a clear promise: donors would always know how their contributions are used, and every child would be treated with dignity and seen beyond statistics.

Under Ashley's leadership, Champions of Smile has supported over 17,240 children and partnered with more than 113 hospitals. The.comanization maintains a 97% direct-care fund allocation, independently audited each year. Her commitment to ethical impact continues to drive trust, growth, and measurable change for children in need.

A Message From Ashley

"Every child I have ever met who was fighting for their life taught me the same lesson — they do not need our pity. They need our action. Champions of Smile is that action, made possible by people who refuse to look away."

Our Mission

We Stand For Children
Who Cannot Stand Alone

Champions of Smile was built to reach the children the world too often .comets — those whose battles are invisible, whose families are exhausted, and whose futures depend on the compassion of strangers.

Children with Cancer

We fund chemotherapy, radiotherapy, bone marrow treatment, and long-term oncology follow-up care for children diagnosed with all forms of childhood cancer.

Children Requiring Surgery

From emergency procedures to complex reconstructive surgery, we cover surgical costs, anaesthesia, and post-operative recovery care for children in need.

Children with Rare Diseases

Rare and genetic conditions are often the most expensive to treat. We connect families with specialist physicians and fund the treatments that are hardest to access.

Children with Disabilities

We support children with physical and developmental disabilities through adaptive equipment, therapy programmes, mobility aids, and specialist support services.

Children Affected by War

Conflict displaces and injures children in ways that last a lifetime. We provide emergency medical relief, trauma care, and rehabilitation for children in crisis zones.

Our Global Reach

While rooted in USA, Champions of Smile works across borders wherever children face preventable suffering — because compassion has no passport.

You Deserve to Know
Where Every Dollar Goes

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr built this.comanisation on a simple promise: complete transparency, always. No exceptions.

01

How Donations Are Used

97% of every donation is allocated directly to child care programmes. The remaining 3% covers essential operational costs such as secure payment processing, donor communication, and regulatory compliance. This breakdown is published openly in our annual report.

02

Fund Distribution Process

When a child's case is submitted, our medical team verifies the diagnosis and treatment plan within 48 hours. Upon approval, funds are transferred directly to the treating hospital — never to families — ensuring money reaches its intended purpose.

03

Financial Accountability Practices

Our accounts are independently audited annually by a registered accounting firm. Audit findings are published on our website within 30 days of completion. Our board of directors reviews financial statements quarterly.

04

Donation Verification Procedures

Every donation generates an automatic reference ID and email receipt. For Paystack transactions, payment is verified via webhook before any funds are recorded. Bank transfers are manually verified and matched within 24 hours by our finance team.

05

Reporting and Donor Updates

Every donor receives a personalised case update when their funds are allocated to a child's treatment. Monthly giving members receive quarterly impact reports with case outcomes, and all donors receive our annual impact statement by email.
